We are the proud owners of The Ruff Life mobile grooming company based on Long Island, New York. 7 years ago, we decided to put our heads together to dream up a business that we would not only be proud of and loved to do, but also something that there was a high demand for and we could excel at. With Chris’ background of entrepreneurship and Emily’s 15 years of grooming experience, we not only achieved but also surpassed our expectations! Combining our business know-how and love for pets, we created a company which is now known and trusted island-wide by our thousands of clients. Today, we are happily married with 2 crazy boys, 20 staff members, and 13 trucks in our fleet. Our love and dedication for what we do is stronger than ever!

Chris is a genuine entrepreneur and a real life problem solver. His entrepreneurial spirit has led him through various ventures in his life, including owning an ice cream shop at the age of 17. Today at The Ruff Life, he works tirelessly ensuring operations are running smoothly and employees are happy doing what they love. From truck maintenance to marketing and managing payroll, Chris is a jack-of-all-trades, constantly steering the business towards innovation and growth. And if his impressive background and journey doesn’t convince you, Chris also serves as a motivational speaker to family, friends, and fellow groomers and entrepreneurs that he’s connected with over time. His dedication to improving not only his life, but also the lives of the people around him, makes him well respected and admired. Emily

Emily’s grooming career started 15 years ago as a dog trainer where she climbed the corporate ladder and worked her way up to become a power groomer and grooming manager of her salon. She’s always had a serious passion for animals and has always been motivated her love for pets and her work. But after 10 years in the corporate world, she realized her time and energy was undervalued in the workplace and wanted to venture out and start working for herself so she can really focus on doing what she loves, as well as being able to reaping all the rewards that come with owning your own business. Teaming up with Chris, her boyfriend at the time, “The Ruff Life Mobile Grooming” was born. Fast forward 7 short years, her “side-hustle” has now become the largest grooming company on the east coast, having 20 employees and 13 vans. Emily’s dedication to animals and the business has made her who she is today. She does all the training in our company and sets the high standards for what is expected by employees and understands what clients expect.
